Ilogbo gangsters arrested for assaulting footballer

The Area ‘K’ Police Command, Morogbo, has arrested three members of a gang at Ilogbo Eremi, Badagry, Lagos, for assaulting a footballer, Francis Imevbore.
Meanwhile, one of the suspects was caught with 10 wraps of Indian hemp, while leader of the gang, Adewale Adeniji, popularly known as Adex, is still at large.
It was gathered that trouble started penultimate Monday when a member of the gang, who was learning how to ride a motorbike at Salvation Army Primary School, Ilogbo, lost control and almost hit a teenager, while the junior team of Oba United FC was training.

Following this development, Imevbore the coach and captain of the team, stopped another member of the gang from learning how to ride a motorbike while Oba United FC was training; stressing that any of his players could be injured.
Vanguard learned that while Oba United FC ‘s training was still on, a woman supplied Adex’s gang with two crates of empty bottles with which they attacked the players, when they were leaving for their various homes.
Imevbore said: “As I was going home after Friday’s training, one of my players ran back to inform us that they (Adex’s gang and some touts) are after him with bottles and other weapons.

As the captain of the team, I went to meet the boys attacking my players just to beg them and next thing, I was hit with a bottle on my head.”
