The
former Chairman of the House Committee Appropriation, Hon. Abdulmumin
Jibrin, who had earlier announced his latest move in an effort to
dethrone Dogara as the Speaker, House of Representatives, on Monday
petitioned the anti-graft agencies to investigate the alleged
corrupt practice of the Speaker and two other principal officers in budget padding.
Jubrin
said that he will file the petition at the Department of State
Security Services (DSS), Independent Corrupt Practices Commission
(ICPC), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Nigeria
Police Force (NPF) to shed light on the purported corrupt practices
by the principal officers.
“My
lawyers have confirmed my appointments for today with security and
anti-corruption agencies to personally provide insight on my
petition,” Jibrin said in a series of tweets.
“We
will be at the ICPC 10am, DSS 12noon, EFCC 2pm and Police HQ 4pm. The
law will surely catch up with the corrupt Speaker Dogara and others,”
he twitted.
The
embattled law maker has promised to fully cooperate with the
anti-crime and anti-corruption agencies unravel the alleged fraud and
abuse of office by the Dogara; his deputy, Yusuf Lasun; Chief Whip,
Alhassan Doguwa; Minority Leader, Leo Ogor; and others.
In
keeping to his words, Jibrin made his first stop at the ICPC office
around 11am where he filled his petition against the Principal
Officers.
Afterwards,
he went to the DSS headquarters in Abuja, then to the EFCC and later
on to the Police Headquarters, Louis Edet, Abuja.
