President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the Comptroller General of the Nigerian
Immigration Services, NIS, Martin Abeshi to vacate his office with immediate
effect.
The directive comes as the President
noted that the NIS CG has exhausted his tenure in office.
According to News Agency, Daily Sun,
The NIS CG, Abeshi, who was appointed as a replacement for the former CG, David
Parradang was not considered firt to continue in office following the expiry of
his tenure.
Recall that he was appointed as a
replacement following the implication of Paradang in the tragic 2014
recruitment scheme which rocked the Immigration Service.
It was gathered that
Abeshi who should have vacated office since last year due to tenure expiration
lobbied his way back into office before the president’s fresh order.
