The Mystery Woman

Her name was Shetima and she was on her way to Bombay to meet with her in-laws and meet her husband to be for the first time, sounds strange but it was an arranged marriage by her mum definitely she has no choice than to oblige and agree with her mother.

She sat down by the window, just gazing at the trees and everything as the train passed by, all of a sudden she heard a voice ''hello dear '' the empty seat opposite her has been taken by this woman, at last someone to talk to as she was already getting bored sitting alone on the train.

She hurriedly replied and said hi they both got talking and talking until she noticed that woman was putting on one ear ring, she asked her why she was wearing just one ear ring and she replied ''some questions are better left unanswered'' the woman removed the ear ring and gave it to her as she was curios to admire the ear ring and they continued with their conversation, some few munites later the train came to a halt and the woman hurried out of the train without saying goodbye and she left the ear ring behind.

Shetima noticed that she had forgot her ear ring so she decided to trace the woman and return her ear ring back to her, and so she got off the train and tried to locate the mystery woman until she got to a house, and she knocked and said hello am looking for a woman that lives here and a male voice replied no woman lives here, i live here alone.

as she was about taking her leave it started raining and the young man who answered her came out and asked her politely to come in for a hot cup of coffee and wait for the rain to stop before she can continue with her journey, while they sat at the living room talking like they have been friends for a decade, Alice was so relaxed and has forgotten she was chatting with a total stranger. she felt so comfortable and relaxed talking to this stranger who was so nice to her.

Then it was time for her to take her leave and continue her journey to meet with her mystery husband to be. He drove her to the train station and said goodbye they both felt the attraction but either Shetima or the handsome stranger could say how they feel despite the fact that they know they might never meet again.

And so she got on the train and waved good bye, as he drove back home he felt he has just lost something so special but it was too late she was gone, Days and night went by and it was a day to the arranged wedding, Shetima has meet her husband to be and he was handsome and rich and her in-laws where also nice to her so during the introductions ceremony the mystery guy she meet two days ago just walked in and it happens that he was a friend to the groom, When she saw him she was so happy and quickly went to say hi to him, he was also surprised to see her and very happy as she was about to tell him how she felt her mother called her to meet some guest that just arrived and she said to him please don't go any where i will be right back as we have a lot to talk about.

Immediately she left the groom came and hugged him so he asked him where is your mystery bride and he replied you where just talking to her, he was shocked as he did not know it was this same lady he loves so much his friend was going to marry the next day so he walked out without saying a word to anybody.

When she returned he was gone she felt like crying but she quickly controlled her self, she needed time to be alone so she went straight to her room as she entered, she saw her father who was waiting to surprise her with a wedding gift, but as she entered her father noticed that she was not happy and he asked her what is wrong and she said nothing but her father knew something was bothering her and said if you really know you don't want to marry this man just tell me because i also made the same mistake years ago before i meet your mother.

My dear i meet this beautiful woman on the train i was a young soldier heading home after the war we sat opposite each other as we both stared at each others eyes how i wish i could have said something but i did not say anything until i got to my destination so i gave her an ear ring and i kept one for myself hoping that we would meet again but we never meet till i meet your mother , so my dear if you have some one you love please go to that person and tell him how you feel the father brought out the ear ring and she said i have meet this woman just two days ago on my way here on the train and she forgot her ear ring with me look at it dad it’s the same ear ring. The father was amazed and told Shetima that woman is the woman I was suppose to marry she was the first woman I ever feel in love with  never knew she was still alive.

And so that night she went back to the house where she meet the handsome stranger, when he saw her he smiled and she said to him, why did you leave when i asked you to wait and he said you where getting married to  my friend how do you expect me to feel, they both smiled holding hands and gazing into each other’s eyes, she said to him i am no longer going ahead with the wedding it's you i want to spend the rest of my life with because it's you i really love, then he kissed her passionately then Shetima said i need your help to find the lady who owns this ear ring I meet her on the train how I wish I could see her and thank her. he replied why? And she said to him it was she who indirectly linked our paths together he laughed and said to her by the way my name is Kamal  she brought out the ear ring and he was surprised, she asked him do you know her? and he replied yes. He took her to his room where he had a painting of her hanging on the wall wearing the same ear ring,He said to her she was my mother and she died 10 years ago.....THE END.
