NDLEA Arrests 71 Drug Dealers In Dutse


The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Jigawa on Thursday said it had arrested 71 suspects for alleged involvement in illicit drug trade.
NDLEA Commander, Mr Ibrahim abu, told the News Agency of  Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse that the suspects were arrested between January and April in various raids.
He said the agency had secured 40 convictions while 31 clients were undergoing rehabilitation.
The commander said the agency had intensified surveillance to get rid of drug peddlers in the state.
“We are targeting drug dealers who are crucial in the supply chain because if we are able to cut the source of supply, the end-users will have no place to buy,” he added.
Abdu called on parents and guardians to monitor and ensure proper upbringing of their ward, to check drug abuse in the society.
